My Saturdays

For the past 4 or 5 months or so… My son and I have created a ritual. We get up, head to Heath, and go to the local card/comic book store and we play some Pokemon.

Yes… Believe it or not. I do play pokemon. It’s a lot of fun to play with my son. It’s specific time every week we are guaranteed to spend together. Every now and then I do play against people at the store, but I mostly play to get my son better at the game.

So far I have built him two solid decks that are hard to beat. I myself have two nice decks but I play more for my son than anything. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a lot of fun believe it or not. I do have a great time. Its a lot of fun trading cards with the people here.

Example. Today. One kid wanted an Entei EX. I know that’s Greek to you but it’s a very nice pokemon. He didn’t have much to trade so I found six random cards that I thought looked cool to help him out. This is another reason I do this. Some kids aren’t able to buy multiple boxes of Pokemon or packs. The chances of these kids pulling a great Pokemon is slim to none. My wife hates it. Sometimes she wishes I would put it on eBay and sell it for $30. But I just can’t do it. I play for these kids. But most of all. I play for my son and the time we get to spend.
